British Council’s two-day IELTS Teacher Training workshop is designed for teachers who are already teaching IELTS classes, as well as for ESL instructors who wish to teach IELTS classes in the future. This workshop is not for IELTS Examiners.
The aim of the workshop is to prepare trainees to teach IELTS classes effectively. To achieve this aim, the workshop is designed with practical ideas and materials, and provides top tips and classroom activities which participants can use in their classrooms.
Participants who complete all four Modules – Writing, Reading, Listening, and Speaking – will get a Certificate of Attendance from British Council which is recognized by TESL Ontario for 10 Professional Development hours.

IELTS is accepted by over 3,500 institutions in the USA, including boarding schools, associate, undergraduate, graduate, professional and law programs.

English Testing Canada is looking for suitably qualified and experienced individuals to join our team of IELTS Speaking Examiners. IELTS Examiners are responsible for conducting and evaluating speaking tests to British Council and IELTS standards.

Reporting to the School Director, the Test Centre Manager (TCM) will administer, manage and be responsible for all activities related to the smooth operation of an IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Test Centre. The TCM will be the liaison agent with the British Council, and will be responsible for the administrative functions relating to human resources, logistical matters, and testing conditions of IELTS respecting of the British Council regulations.
The TCM may also be required to explore additional testing opportunities (ex. CELPIP).
This position is a full-time permanent position, and may require working on Saturdays and/or Sundays.
